Laapataa Ladies gets screened in Supreme Court, Kiran Rao says 'I am over the moon'
New Delhi/IBNS: Filmmaker Kiran Rao's Laaptaa Ladies was on Friday screened in the Supreme Court after the Hindi film went on to win hearts of the audience with its storyline speaking about gender neutrality.
The screening was attended by Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud and other top judges with their spouses.
Along with Kiran, her former husband and co-producer of the film, Bollywood actor Aamir Khan, was also present at the screening.

Sharing glimpses from the screening, Kiran wrote on her Instagram handle, "We had the unbelievable honour of screening our film Laapataa Ladies at the Supreme Court yesterday.
"As is visible in these pictures, I am over the moon! Deeply grateful to our absolutely brilliant CJI DY Chandrachud, his wonderful partner Ms Kalpana Das, and the whole team of the CJI. It is an experience I will personally always hold dear, and on behalf of my entire cast and crew, I am so thankful for this honour."
She added, "(Special mention must be made of Mr Atul Kurhekar, Dr Sukhda Pritam, Ms Tarannum Khatana and Mr Rakesh Kumar for the great hospitality extended to all of us)."
Laapataa Ladies, which had a cold run in the box office, stars Ravi Kishan, Sparsh Shrivastava, Pratibha Ranta and Nitanshi Goel in distinct roles.
The film, which had its theatrical release on December 1, 2023, premiered on Netflix earlier this year garnering positive responses.
