Mumbai to host 14th edition of Kashish International Queer Film Festival from June 7
Mumbai/IBNS: To celebrate the Pride Month which is observed around the world in June, Mumbai’s very own LGBTQ+ film festival is organizing a nearly month-long festival on-ground and online.
The 14th edition of KASHISH Mumbai International Queer Film Festival, South Asia's biggest LGBTQ+ film festival will be held June 7-11 at Liberty Cinema and June 8-10, at Alliance Française de Bombay. It will also be held online from June 16 - 25.

Sridhar Rangayan, founder festival director said, “There is Hope beyond the Rainbow! After the reading down of Sec 377 in 2018, the LGBTQ+ community have been rallying for equal rights, anti-discriminatory laws, equality for transgender persons and the recent hot topic marriage equality."
The theme for this year is 'Be Fluid, Be You!', giving wings to the aspirations of the contemporary generation that is fluid in their thoughts, actions and sexualities; which is expressed through films, art and poetry that is universal in its appeal.

Kashish 2023 will screen 129 films from 46 countries out of which 101 films from 41 countries will screen at the on-ground edition.
The online version will screen 104 films that will have many films from the on-ground version too. But the film line-up and schedules for the on-ground and online editions are different.
The festival will also have celebrity red-carpet events, engaging panel discussions, exquisite performances by the queer community and allies, workshops, interactive sessions and a film pitching session for your LGBTQ+ filmmakers to make their next short film.
“Mumbaikars as well as friends from across India and the world, come to Liberty Cinema and Alliance Française de Bombay and enjoy watching the films with your friends, families and allies, share the joy of meeting and networking and celebrate diversity with us," said Rangayan.
