Pathaan trailer: SRK with Deepika Padukone on mission to save 'Bharat Maa' from villain John Abraham
Bollywood actors Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham starrer upcoming Hindi film Pathaan, which is directed by Siddharth Anand, had already created buzz with its first look, teaser and songs but now the excitement has grown manifolds with the launch of its trailer.
The makers, Yash Raj Films, on Tuesday dropped the 2:34-minute trailer on its YouTube channel giving a glimpse of the action-packed film with high VFX.
The trailer begins with John aiming to destroy India, referred to as 'Bharat Maa' in the film, prompting the summoning of Shah Rukh as Pathaan from a 'ban' for the mission to save the country.
With a chiselled body rightly complimenting Shah Rukh's abs, Deepika, a soldier in the film, joins Pathaan on the mission.
A glimpse of Deepika's bikini clad sequence was not to be missed in the trailer.
Veteran actor Dimple Kapadia too features in the trailer.
Pathaan was caught in the middle of a controversy over its 'Besharam Rang' song where Deepika's saffron-coloured bikini had angered the ruling Hindu nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) members.
With 10 cuts including the butt shot of Deepika in the song as recommended by the Central Board of Film Certification or CBFC, Pathaan has got the U/A certificate.
Pathaan is marking Shah Rukh's much-awaited comeback into films after the massively popular 57-year-old Hindi film actor took a hiatus from the business following the unsuccessful box office run of Zero in 2018.
It also reunited Shah Rukh with leading Bollywood actor Deepika Padukone for the fourth venture after they enthralled the audience with their earlier works, Om Shanti Om, Chennai Express and Happy New Year.
Pathaan is slated for Jan 25 release in cinema halls.
