Rohit Sharma hammers heroic 87 to guide India to 229 for nine as England display much-improved show
Rohit Sharma hit 87 runs as he guided India to 229 runs for the loss of nine wickets against world champions England in a crucial group stage match of the World Cup on Sunday.

India received early jolts as Shubman Gill (9), Virat Kohli (0) and Shreyas Iyer (4) departed early, leaving India struggling at 3-40.
Sharma was joined by KL Rahul (39) and Suryakumar Yadav (49) as they stabilised the innings following initial strikes.
Sharma hit 10 boundaries and three sixes in his knock which is assumed to be significant after India lost quick wickets.
Yadav also played a major knock where he hit found boundaries and a six in his 47-ball innings.
David Willey remained the pick of the British bowlers when he took three wickets in the innings.
Chris Woakes and Adil Rashid took two wickets each.
