A gang of mobile snatchers arrested by Agartala city police with many stolen phones

The Agartala city police has arrested a gang of four mobile snatchers from different parts of the city and burst a network of mobile snatchers with recovery of 11 stolen mobiles and some other household things under their possessions on Thursday.
Speaking with media persons at West Agartala police station on Thursday afternoon, SDPO(Sadar) Debaprasad Roy said that a group of thieves had looted some valuable items including cash and mobile phone from the house of one retired police officer, Badal Chakraborty from Bhati Abhoynagar area under West PS on September 27 night.
The next day, when the house owner lodged a complaint at the police station, police started an investigation to arrest the responsible thieves.
Finally, on Thursday, police managed to arrest four thieves, identified as Sahid Miah, Debasish Sarkar, Amrit Roy and Rakesh Das from different parts of the city and recovered a scooter, cash amount of Rs. 5000, 11 mobile sets and some other household items.
SDPO said that all these arrested four thieves were actively involved with mobile snatching and they have snatched many mobiles from different areas of the city.
He added that all arrested persons were running a network for mobile phone snatching and they will be produced before a local court with police remand appeals for further interrogation.
