Agartala police bust a big snatcher gang, 4 arrested with 3 bikes, gold jewelleries

The Agartala city has managed to bust a big gang of snatchers by arresting four members of the gang and recovered three stolen motorbikes and large quantities of gold jewelleries under their possessions on Tuesday.
Giving details, SDPO(SDara0 Debaprasad Roy said that on August 16 night, police received information over movements of a snatcher gang in the bordering Joypur area under West Agartala police station. Immediately, a police team rushed to the spot and tried to chase them. But, miscreants with sharp weapons attacked a police party and injured a constable.
Later, reinforcements led by OC of West Agartala police station, Rana Chatterjee rushed to the spot and managed to detain two of them from the jungles on the same night with sharp weapons.
Two arrested criminals, Saqil Miah and Mintu Rudrapaul and based on their confessional statements, police also managed to arrest two other gang members, identified as Jhutan Miah and Akash Das from bordering Joypur and Bishalgarh areas and recovered three stolen motorbikes from their possessions, said SDPO and added during preliminary interrogations, police has also recovered large quantities of stolen gold jewelleries from them, which they stolen from different snatching incidents from different parts of the state.
He said that this gang was active from Agartala to Sonamura and they often committed different kinds of crime including snatching incidents.
Roy said that a massive investigation is going to arrest other miscreants of the gang, who were involved in many stolen and snatching incidents.
Police on Tuesday forwarded all four criminals before a local court with police remand appeals for further interrogation.
SDPO also said that the city police achieved major success by bursting the network of this snatching gang and hoped with more arrests, they will be able to find out the network of the snatching gang.
