Assam Rifles commemorates 150 years of Vande Mataram
Assam Rifles proudly commemorated the 150th anniversary of the iconic national song Vande Mataram at Agartala Garrison, Tripura.
Composed by Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay in 1875, the literary masterpiece continues to evoke an unmatched spirit of patriotism and unity among Indians, just as it did during the days of India’s freedom struggle when it first inspired countless revolutionaries.
The event was marked by the enthusiastic participation of 136 individuals and 57 families, who joined the celebration with full fervour and zeal. The occasion featured a live broadcast of the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s motivational address, which stirred deep national pride among all present.
The highlight of the event was the mass singing of Vande Mataram, symbolizing the collective reverence for the song that has become a timeless emblem of India’s cultural and patriotic identity. The commemoration reflected Assam Rifles' continued dedication to preserving and promoting nation’s rich heritage and values.
