Assam Rifles organizes half-marathon at Agartala to celebrate Vijay Diwas
In order to commemorate the glorious occasion of 53rd anniversary of Vijay Diwas, Assam Rifles organised a Half Marathon in Agartala, Tripura on Sunday morning. Over 600 participants from various walks of life came together to celebrate this momentous day, dedicated to honoring the valour and sacrifices of Indian Armed Forces during the 1971 war.
The day is a testament to the courage and dedication of India’s soldiers, taking along the citizens towards the shared goal of unity and integrity.
The event was graced by the presence of Tinku Roy, Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs of Tripura, as the Chief Guest. He lauded the efforts of Assam Rifles in organising such a significant event, emphasizing the importance of patriotism as also encouraging fitness towards building a vibrant society.
The event was also graced by Padma Shri awardee, Dipa Karmakar, the renowned Olympian, as the Guest of Honour. Her presence served as an inspiration for all participants, particularly the young athletes, who look up to her as a role model of perseverance and excellence.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from all stratus, including youth, ladies, children, and senior citizens. Post run, various patriotic events were also organized to motivate and instill a sense of belongingness among the locals.
Assam Rifles expressed its gratitude to all participants, volunteers, and organizers for making the event a grand success. The event culminated with the distribution of medals and certificates to the winners across all categories.
