Attack on party worker houses, CPI (M) stages protest
The leaders and party workers of CPI(M) Sadar sub divisional committee on Sunday staged a demonstration in front of East Agartala police station and submitted their deputation before police in protest of attacks in the houses of two party workers on Saturday night.
Demanding immediate arrest of all accused persons, secretary of CPI(M) West Tripura district committee Ratan Das alleged the involvement of BJP-backed goons over the attacks in the houses of their supporters.
The attack targeted the residences of Sanjib Saha, a member of the CPI(M) Sadar Divisional Committee, and Subir Deb, a member of the Agartala Local Committee, both located at the Kashari Patti area in Agartala. According to the protesters, the assailants caused extensive damage, leaving the families shaken and sparking widespread anger among party members.
Leading the protest, Ratan Das accused the ruling BJP of using intimidation tactics. “This is an orchestrated attack to silence our workers. We will not bow down to violence. The administration must act swiftly and ensure justice,” Das said, addressing party supporters outside the police station.
In addition to their protest, CPI (M) workers submitted a deputation to the police, urging swift and decisive action against the perpetrators.
