BC Nagar shops stealing, two thieves arrested with stolen items
With 72-hours of the sensational thieves’ raids in 25 shops at BC Nagar marget of Belonia under South Tripura district on May 6th (Tuesday) night, the district police on Friday managed to arrest two thieves involved in the raids and recovered some cash amount and other grocery items looted from these shops.
Giving details, SP (South Tripura) Mourya Krishna C said that after raids of thieves , the police team of Belonia police station has collected all substantial evidences by pressing Forensic team, dog squad and fingerprint experts and verifying the CCTV footages, police has managed to identify two thieves involved in the robbery incident.
During a joint operation by police personnel from Belonia and Jatrapur police stations, they managed to arrest two thieves identified as Nayan Barman and Jiten Barman from Bhawanipur village under Jatrapur police station on Thursday night.
Police also recovered some stolen cash amount and other grocery items under their possession, said SP and added that both arrested thieves were produced before a local court with police remand appeals for further interrogation.
He also assured the local people and traders of BC Nagar that police have intensified their surveillance and night patrolling in the entire area to thwart such kind criminal activities in future.
