Bikers snatch gold chain in broad daylight at Ramnagar; CCTV footage aids probe
In yet another daring incident, two unidentified bikers snatched a gold chain from a woman pedestrian in broad daylight at Ramnagar Road No. 1–2 area in Agartala on Saturday afternoon.
According to reports, the miscreants swiftly carried out the snatching and fled the scene on a motorcycle, leaving the victim shocked. The entire incident was captured on nearby CCTV cameras.
The victim later lodged a complaint at the West Agartala Police Station.
Police sources said an investigation has been launched, and officials are currently analyzing CCTV footage to identify and trace the accused.
Notably, this is not the first such incident in the area. About a month ago, a similar chain-snatching case was reported from Ramnagar Road No. 4, where a thief entered a roadside shop and snatched a gold chain from the shopkeeper while he was engaged in his routine work. The accused had then escaped with the help of an accomplice waiting on a motorcycle.
The recurrence of such incidents has raised concerns among local residents regarding safety and security in the Ramnagar area.
