BSF carries out flood relief operations in Tripura

Displaying humanitarian spirit, BSF distributed drinking water to villagers in border areas of Dhalai district, worst affected by flood due to heavy rainfall since last few days.
On request of the local population of border villages Lathiapura and Rangauti and in consultation with DM of Unakoti district, BSF assisted in the protection of livestock. Villagers were allowed to tie appropriately 200 cattle ahead of the fence on high ground for grazing as there was no alternative feed available for the cattle, which otherwise is not allowed.
In border areas of Rashiyabari, BSF provided vehicles for timely evacuation of families along with their belongings and livestock to safer places.
BSF medical teams are also visiting flood affected border areas and providing treatment to patients and distributing medicines. Food packets are also being distributed. DIG Anil Sharma is personally supervising the relief operations in South Tripura which is the worst affected district.
BSF is not only the 1st line of defense but also the first responder to any natural calamity in the border belt. BSF is making all efforts for the rescue and assistance of the border population badly affected by floods.
