BSF celebrates 61st Raising Day, CM felicitates martyr families
Tripura Frontier, Border Security Force (BSF) celebrated its 61st / Diamond Jubilee Raising Day on 01st Dec 2025. Prof (Dr.) Manik Saha, Hon'ble Chief Minister of Tripura graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. He paid tribute to the martyrs who laid down their lives on the line of duty and felicitated the veterans of the 1971 War and NOKs of the Martyred Seema Praharies. Hon'ble Chief Minister extended his best wishes to all BSF personnel and lauded their efforts in maintaining peace and tranquillity along the Indo - Bangladesh border. He also released the Tripura Frontier BSF Magazine, "Gajraj."
Since its inception in 1965, BSF has dedicated itself to the service of the nation, upholding exemplary traditions of bravery and professionalism living up to its motto: “Jeevan Paryant Kartavya” (Duty unto Death).
BSF troops maintained high levels of surveillance and alertness, resulting in the rescue of 1,830 cattle heads and the seizure of contraband, including: 44,426 bottles Phensedyl, Ganja: 11,546.827 kg, Yaba tablets: 4,19,505 Nos & 14.172 kg, Gold: 1399.34 gm, Arms/Ammunition: 02 Pistol, 02 Magazine & 07 live rounds
Additionally, BSF apprehended 57 Rohingya Illegal Migrants (RIMs), 628 Bangladeshi nationals and 280 Indian nationals in various operations.
Excellent coordination, cooperation and synergy between BSF, Tripura Police and state as well as central agencies led to numerus joint operations resulting in drastic reduction in trans – border crimes and destruction of approximately 31,23,000 ganja saplings grown illegally on 452.47 acres in Tripura through uprooting and burning.
BSF conducted numerous Civic Action Programs, including free medical camps, blood donation camps, skill development training programme, Pre-recruitment training for youth and cultural activities for the welfare and holistic development of border belt and people living there. Appx 781 Village Coordination Meetings were also organised in the border belt. BSF also organised specific Blood Donation camps, Awareness and Career Counselling & Guidance programme in all districts of Tripura. Tripura Frontier BSF has been relentlessly working to fulfil its commitment of holistic development of border infra, upgradation of living conditions of border population, self-employment opportunities, women and youth empowerment.
