BSF foils infiltration, detained 3 Bangladeshi, seizes medicines worth Rs 67.5 lakh

Amidst strong vigil along the India-Bangladesh border, infiltration from the violence-hit country into Tripura remained unabated and on Wednesday, BSF in two different operations detained 3 more Bangladeshi nationals including women for illegal entry into India.
BSF spokespersons said that said on Tuesday acting on specific input, two Bangladesh nationals were apprehended in joint operation of BSF and police personnel from Sabroom police station of South Tripura district while they were attempting to enter Indian territory through the area of Border Outpost (BOP) Ghagrabasti under same police station.
In another operation ,on the intervening night of August 13th and 14th, on specific input BSF troops apprehended one more Bangladeshi when he was trying to enter Indian territory through the area of BOP Chhotakhil under PS Sabroom of South Tripura District .
In a separate joint operation, a Mobile Check Post laid by BSF troops and a team of Airport police station detained two Indian nationals and seized 387 small packets of suspected Brown sugar from their possession.
In a similar joint operation a Mobile check post was laid by BSF troops with a team of Customs at Pongbari Trijunction, intercepted one vehicle and recovered a huge haul of medicine worth Rs. 68.5 lakh meant for smuggling.
BSF has intensified surveillance and dominance along the international border and in hinterland due to the ongoing disturbances in Bangladesh.
