Businessman dies in head-on collision with a speeding bus at Charilam

In a tragic road accident, one businessman died on the spot, which his scooty collided face on with a speeding passenger bus near the Charilam petrol pump under Sepahijala district on Saturday morning.
Police sources said that a speeding passenger bus bearing registration number TR01C1389, moving towards Udaipur from Agartala collided with a scooter near the Charilam petrol pump. The impact of the collision was severe, leading to the death of the businessman, Chandan Bhowmikon the spot.
After the incident, police and firefighters rushed to the spot and rescued the blood-soaked businessman, transporting him to Bishalgarh Sub-Divisional Hospital, where the attending doctor declared him dead. Then, police shifted his body to the hospital morgue for autopsy.
The deceased businessman was a resident of Shikaria area under Charilam block. Like every day, he had gone out on his scooter on Saturday morning to collect goods for his shop, when the fatal accident took place.
News of his death brought his family and locals rushing to the Bishalgarh Hospital and the untimely demise of the businessman has cast a pall of grief over the entire area.
Police seized the offending bus, but were unable to detain the accused driver.
