CM inaugurates 3-day photography exhibition by TPJA

On the occasion of 'World Photography Day, a three-day photo exhibition organized by the Tripura Photo Journalists Association (TPJA) begins at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan premises in Agartala on Monday amid huge response from enthusiastic photo journalists.

Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha inaugurated the exhibition  with the theme of 'Akal Bodhan', 'Akal Bodhan', and "Untimely Awakening of Maa Durga”. The exhibition was sponsored by Techno India University Tripura.

After paying floral tributes to the portraits of two late photo journalists  Debashish Barua and Sushant Das, Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha speaking with media persons said pictures are louder than words. It has the competency to tell history more vividly.

He said the picture collections in the exhibition are commendable. The CM also complemented and wished the photographers associated with this work on World Photography Day. He visited the collection of old cameras along with beautiful photographs of the exhibition. The Chief Minister himself also took a picture on this day. Agartala City  Mayor Dipak Majumder, Secretary (ICA)Dr P K Chakraborty, Dr Ratan Kumar Saha, Vice-Chancellor of Techno India University Tripura, Jayanta Bhattacharjee, president, Agartala Press Club, its secretary Ramakanta Dey and president and secretary of Tripura Photo Journalist Association, Pralojit Paul and Abhishek Saha respectively were also present along with the Chief Minister on this day.

A total of 76 multicolored photos on different subjects make this exhibition highly captivating and interesting. The Chief Minister also spoke about the work of photojournalists in the state. The exhibition will remain open daily from 11 AM to 9 PM till August 21, 2024 The exhibition displays 76 photographs on the 'Akal Bodhan'  theme taken by photojournalists of the state.

Abhishek Saha, secretary of the Tripura Photo Journalists Association invited all to visit the three-day photo exhibition.

It may be recalled here that World Photography Day is celebrated annually on August 19 globally to share their experiences and collections through photography.
