CM inaugurates AGM of Akhil Bharatiya Rashtriya Shaikshik Mahasangh, Tripura (Mahavidyalaya Shiksha)

The 6th Annual General Meeting of Akhil Bharatiya Rashtriya Shaikshik Mahasangh Tripura (Mahavidyalaya Shiksha) was organized at Maharaja Bir Bikram Shatabarshiki Auditorium Hall, Tripura Central University, Suryamaninagar on Sunday.
More than 600 delegates representing the galaxy of higher education institutions were part of this grand event. Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha graced the occasion as the Chief Guest of the programme. Mahendra Kapoor , Organizing Secretary, ABRSM, New Delhi and Prof. Arobindo Mahato, Central University Coordinator, ABRSM were present as Guest of Honor. Dr. Arjun Gope, President ABRSM Tripura (Mahavidyalaya Shiksha) presided over the meeting.
The programme was formally inaugurated through lighting of the lamp by the Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha accompanied by the dignitaries. This was followed by their felicitation and ‘Saraswati Vandana’.
In the opening address, Dr Arjun Gope, President ABRSM Tripura highlighted the key achievements of the previous year, including events such as a trailblazing national seminar and students’ skill building workshop. A significant portion of the meeting was dedicated to discussing issues of Tripura’s development and the role and responsibilities of the higher education institutions and teachers in this context by the Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha called upon all faculty members in the higher education of Tripura to work towards continuing improvement of the higher education sector. He emphasized student-teacher relations and the special role it plays in shaping the world view of students instilling qualities of service to the nation through every endeavour. He believes that the teacher community has a special role in steering the society and especially youth away from social evils such as drug abuse and march towards a healthy and happy future. It should be mentioned here that an edited volume titled ‘Viksit Bharat’: A Vision for the Future’ containing articles on India’s Development trajectory as we reach the centenary of Independence, was released by the Chief Minister on this platform.
The President and General Secretary, ABRSM Tripura also handed over a cheque of Rs. 1 Lakh to CM as a contribution from all members of the organization towards the Chief Minister’s Flood Relief Fund.
The Annual Report 2023-24 was delivered by the General Secretary of ABRSM Tripura, Tirtharam Reang. The Audit Report of the previous financial year was presented by the Treasurer ABRSM Tripura and passed by the members. Results of the elections for new office bearers of ABRSM Tripura (Mahavidyalaya Shiksha) were also announced during the meeting. Tirtharam Reang as the President, Debashis Roy Choudhury as General Secretary and Tapanjyoti Malakar as Treasurer of ABRSM Tripura (Mahavidyalaya Shiksha). The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks by Shyam Sundar Sarkar, followed by Rashtra Vandana and a commitment from the organization to continue to work for the larger benefit of society as a whole, echoing the motto of the ABRSM “Rashtra ke Hit me Shiksha, Shiksha ke Hit me Shikshak, Shikshak ke Hit ne Samaaj”.
