CM pays tribute to late cricketer Rajesh Banik
Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha on Wednesday visited the residence of the state’s renowned cricketer, late Rajesh Banik, to pay his respects to the departed player and express deepest condolences to the bereaved family.
Remembering Rajesh Banik, the Chief Minister said that his boundless love and devotion for cricket since childhood had taken him to the top of state-level cricket.
“He captained Tripura’s Ranji Trophy team and was serving as a member of the Junior Selection Committee of the Tripura Cricket Association. In his untimely demise, Tripura has lost a talented and dedicated cricketer whose contribution to the sport will always be remembered”, said Dr Saha.
Dr Saha was accompanied by Tripura Cricket Association Secretary Subrata Dey, Vice President Upananda Debbarma and Treasurer Basudeb Chakraborty.
