CM urge doctors to serve beyond regular hours
Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr Manik Saha on Sunday emphasized the importance of doctors fulfilling their responsibilities with dedication and timeliness.
“Doctors always work for people, engaging themselves in service 24/7, from morning to night. By donating blood themselves to save the lives of the poor, doctors are sending a positive message to society. They not only receive blood donations but also contribute as donors. We are all human, and there must be a mindset to work for the people,” he stated. Dr Saha said this while inaugurating a Blood Donation Camp organized by the Indian Medical Association (IMA), Tripura Branch, at IMA House, Agartala.
The event coincided with the Rath Yatra festival and National Doctor's Day. The Chief Minister stressed the importance of timely work by doctors and urged them to address problems even beyond regular hours.
“If people face problems outside of regular hours, you must come forward to solve them. You always work for the people. Even if a call comes at two o'clock in the morning, respond immediately,” he urged.
In addition to expressing gratitude to the organizers, blood donors, and the team that facilitated the blood donation camp, the Chief Minister, who also serves as the Health Minister of the state, highlighted the selfless service of the medical community.
Distinguished guests at the event included IMA Tripura Branch President Dr Sanjib Debbarma, Secretary Dr Basab Ghosh, State Branch President of the Indian Dental Association Dr SM Ali, and Dr Damodar Chatterjee, among other prominent doctors.
During the event, Dr Saha presented certificates to the blood donors and participated in a tree planting program organized as part of the blood donation camp.
