CM urges for voluntarily blood donations to mitigate crisis

Chief Minister Prof. Dr Manik Saha on Saturday urged everyone to come forward in donating blood to help mitigate the blood crisis in the state.
Dr Saha made this appeal while attending the 14th Voluntary Blood Donation Camp on the occasion of the 43rd Foundation Day of Sri Sri Mahanam Angan.
“Many people have come to donate blood. I want to emphasize that everyone should donate blood. Donating blood is beneficial for the human body. I urge everyone to come forward and donate. The condition of the blood bank is now good. PM Modi has always advocated for 'one nation, one election.' If we can conduct elections at one time, it will be beneficial. What PM Modi says, he delivers. Recently, he announced health coverage for senior citizens,” said Dr Saha.
Dr Saha, who is also the Health Minister, noted that during elections, there is often a shortage of blood in blood banks, and he appealed for blood to be stored by organizing blood collection drives.
“For cases like thalassemia and road traffic accidents, blood is essential. We have 14 blood banks, including private ones, with separation centers. We must keep a close eye on the blood banks,” he added.
Dr Saha also praised the initiative of Sri Sri Mahanam Angan. “Without God, nothing is possible. As doctors, we always pray to God before any surgery,” he concluded.
