College of Fisheries participate in national agricultural students’ conference organized by ICAR

Students of College of Fisheries, CAU (Imphal), Lembucherra, Tripura along with Prof. Arun Bhai Patel, Dean and faculty members, virtually participated in the National Agricultural Students’ Sammelan (conference) organized by the Agricultural Education Division of ICAR and ICAR-IARI, New Delhi, on October 27, 2025 (Monday) in hybrid mode.
The programme was graced by Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare as Chief Guest; Bhagirath Choudhary, MoS for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare as Special Guest and Dr. M. L. Jat, Secretary (DARE) & DG, ICAR.
The programme brought together agricultural students from across India’s universities and research institutions to interact and share ideas aimed at strengthening the nation’s agricultural education and innovation ecosystem.
Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan interacted with students from agricultural universities and research institutes across India and urged ICAR to form a team of agricultural students to seek constructive suggestions to address shortcomings. He called for healthy competition in grading agricultural universities and colleges and directed ICAR to study global best practices and implement them in the country and ensuring that the development of agriculture goes hand-in-hand with rural progress as a developed and self-reliant India depends on the development of agriculture.
The event provided an excellent platform for young agricultural minds to engage with policymakers and contribute ideas for advancing India’s agricultural growth and rural prosperity.
