CPI (M) to file police complaint against fake FB account opened in the name of Manik Sarkar

Opposition CPI (M) lodged a complaint before the cyber cell of police over a fake Facebook account of former Chief Minister and party’s politburo member Manik Sarkar and claimed that a section is trying to malign and mislead people with false and fake posts.

CPI (M) state secretary Jitendra Chaudhury reaction over statements on fake Facebook posts, said that 'he should understand that our enemies are trying to tarnish the images of Manik Sarkar through fake posts.'

It may be recalled here that a fake account was opened in the name of former chief minister and CPI (M) politburo member Manik Sarkar to spread unfounded rumour and misinformation.

Chaudhury said that recently the CPI (M) state committee has decided to file a complaint with the police under the IT act against the holder of the fake account. He added that the Cyber Cell of the state police will also be put on alert about the fake account.
