Eyes on by-poll for two seats, reshuffle of officers in Sepahijala district

Amidst preparations for by-elections in two assembly constituencies including Dhanpur and Boxanagar, the state administration has started reshuffle of officers in the Sepahijala district.
In a notification issued by the General Administration (personnel and Training) department of the state government on Friday transferred four TPS officers and posted different wings of the police department.
As per the notification, the incumbent SDPO(Ambassa) Suman Majumder (TPS-Grade-I) has been transferred as additional SP of Sepahijala district. SDPO(Sonamura) Samir Roy has been transferred as Dy.SP of Gomati district . The present Dy.SP of Gomati district, Sashi Mohan Debbarma has now been transferred as new SDPO of Sonamura subdivision, while another TPS-Grade-II officer Nityananda Sarkar, Dy.SP of West Tripura district has been transferred as new SDPO of Ambassa, Dhalai district.
It may be recalled here that the Dhanpur assembly constituency in Sonamura subdivision had been won by the Union minister of state for Social Justice and Empowerment Pratima Bhowmik in the last assembly election but she had to resign to continue her MP status. Since the by-election is required to be held within a period of six months, preparation has also been initiated by The Election Commission of India (ECI).
Now, the by-election for another assembly constituency under the same Sepahijala district has also been necessitated after the sudden death of sitting CPI (M) MLA Samsul Haque, who died in a massive cardiac arrest in the wee hours of July 19 last.
