Five drug smugglers arrested from Bishramganj with Heroin, Yaba tablets
The ongoing crackdown operations by Tripura police in different parts of the state has been continues and after massive operation against Cannabis plantation across Sepahijala district, the district police on Friday burst Heroin smuggling network in Bishramganj market under the same district and arrested five drug smugglers with contraband items.
Police sources said that on Friday morning based on secret information, a contingent of police forces from Bishramganj police station raided the market areas and managed to detain five drug smugglers, who were involved with selling Yaba tablets and vials of Heroin to some local youths.
OC of Bishramganj police station, Subimal Debnath police has recovered 400 Yaba tablets, 125 filled vials of Brown Sugar, 17 mobiles and cash amount of Rs. 25,000 under their possessions.
Arrested drug smugglers were identified as Anurupam Datta, Jamal Hussain, Ram Datta, Jayanta Ghosh and Rahul Saha, all residents of Bishramganj.
He said that arrested drug peddlers are a part of a drug network spreading in the district and soon police will be able to arrest others involved with the network.
Debnath added that all arrested youths were produced before a court in Bishalgarh in a specific case registered under the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act 1985 with police remand appeals on Friday to get details of their network.
