Four school students from Tripura are set to receive the special opportunity to meet President Droupadi Murmu on the occasion of the upcoming Raksha Bandhan festival. A seven-member delegation from Tripura reached New Delhi on Wednesday evening to participate in a special Raksha Bandhan celebration scheduled to be held at Rashtrapati Bhavan on August 28.
The delegation is being led by Abhijit Samajpati, OSD of the School Education Department and State Nodal Officer for the Raksha Bandhan festival. The Tripura delegation will participate in the special event at Rashtrapati Bhavan and showcase the state’s rich cultural heritage and diversity.
The seven-member delegation comprises OSD Abhijit Samajpati and teachers Biswajit Bhowmik and Biplab Deb, along with four selected students — Meheresia Sarkar, Pratik Sarkar, Rike Deb and Amit Kumar Sarkar. The students are from Netajinagar English Medium SB School in West Tripura district. The selected students are between 10 and 11 years of age. The opportunity to meet President Droupadi Murmu, the highest constitutional authority of the country, at Rashtrapati Bhavan during the sacred and emotionally significant festival of Raksha Bandhan is undoubtedly set to be a memorable experience for the young students from Tripura.
