Fourth National Lok Adalat disposed 72.33 pc pending cases
The fourth National Lok Adalat for the year 2025 organized on Saturday across the state to resolve 29,393 pending cases and among the pending cases 21,260 cases resolved with collection of settlement amount of Rs. 3.79 crore.
During the Lok Adalat held across 61 courts, among the pending cases, a total of 72.33% percent cases were disposed of and 11.10 percent more pre-litigative cases were also disposed of.
The Member secretary Tripura State Legal Services Authority (TSLSA), Smt Juma Datta Chowdhury said that based on the directives of National Legal Service Authority, a total of 61 courts of Tripura including High Court has set up across the state to resolve the pending cases like MACT, matrimonial, NI Act, many other civil cases and criminal compoundable cases, MV Act, TP Act, Excise cases, service matter and pre-litigation bank loan recovery cases etc.
Smt Juma Datta Chowdhury added that altogether 29,393 pending cases have been taken up in courts for disposal including 21,260 pending cases and 6,482 pre-litigative cases taken up in the 67 courts across eight districts of the state including in Agartala.
Among the pending cases, a total of 35,875 cases and 720 are pre-litigative cases were disposed in the Lok Adalat, said Smt Datta Chowdhury and added that total amount of Rs3,79,19,231 has also collected as settlement amount.
