Govt take initiatives to popularize state’s handloom, handicraft products in international arena, CM
The handloom and handicraft products of the state get popularity across the globe and by using the modern technology, the state’s cottage industry products need expansion, said Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha.
Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha inaugurating the new administrative building and Urban Hut complex at Purbasa on Saturday evening said that there were lots opportunities to develop the state’s cottage industry and the products of handloom and handicrafts , but the previous government convert the ‘Purbasa’ into rehabilitation centre.
He said that previous governments had already destroyed many selling centers of Purbasa and they did not take any step for improvement. Dr Saha said that the present state government has taken many plans to revive the cottage industry of the state and over Purbasa.
The Prime Minister of the country shows the nation how to develop every sector, because without development a society never develops through socio-economically. He stressed on proper and modern training to the artisans of handloom and handicrafts and measures proper international marketing.
During the inauguration programme, Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC), Dipak Majumder, MLA Dr Dilip Das, Tripura Handloom and Handicraft Development Corporation’s chairman Balai Goswami and managing director Kuntal Das also delivered their speeches highlighting developmental initiatives of the state government.
