After sudden demise of Director General of Police (DGP) Anurag Dhankar, Tripura government has appointed Additional DGP (AP), G S Rao as in-charge DGP of Tripura with immediate effect.
PN Monday evening, the General Administration (Personnel and Training) department of Tripura government through an order, signed by P Debnath, deputy secretary of the state government said that “consequent upon the death of Anurag, DGP of Tripura, the next senior most officer working in the state, namely GS Rao, the incumbent Additional DGP will hold the post of DGP, Tripura as in-charges with immediate effect and until further orders.
ADGP , GS Rao is the IPS cadre of 1999 batch, while, DGP Anurag was the IPS officer of 1994 batch of Tripura-cadre.
