Hanging Body of an inmate found at a drug rehabilitation centre in Khowai

An inmate of drug rehabilitation centre located at Ampura of Khowai district mysteriously committed suicide by hanging allegedly under the influence of drugs on Saturday.
Sources said that a private run drug rehabilitation centre located at Ampura area of Baijalbari under Khowai district became an addiction centre and authorities of this rehabilitation centre often supply drugs to inmates.
Local sources confirmed that among all inmates, one Jenel Debbarma, son of Brajamohan Debbarma was admitted to this rehabilitation centre a couple months ago by his parents. Instead of treatment for their son, he became more addicted to synthetic drugs during his stay in the centre.
On Saturday, police received the information of suicide and they rushed to the spot. Police found Jenel Debbarma’s hanging body in an abandoned place of the rehabilitation centre and they shifted the body to a local hospital morgue for autopsy.
While speaking with media persons, the deceased's youth father Brajamohan Debbarma alleged that they admitted their son in the rehabilitation centre for drug-de-addiction about two months ago. But, they did not get any result and on Saturday morning they arrived at the centre and found their son’s hanging body.
He also complained about how their son got drugs inside a rehabilitation centre and demanded justice for the untimely death of their son.
Police sources added that they have registered an unnatural death case and started investigation to find out the reason for suicide.
