HS girl candidate of Melaghar eloped with Free-Fire mobile game partner
A class-twelfth- student from Telkajla village of Melaghar under Sepahijala district eloped with a young man from Bihar state after becoming involved in the Free Fire game mobile gaming.
Sources said that eloped girl, Tania Akhtar, who had appeared in the Higher Secondary examinations of Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE) needed a mobile phone for her studies, online classes, and school work. Her parents, wanting to support her education, bought her a mobile phone.
However, she became addicted to the Free Fire game and eventually eloped with a young man from Bihar state.
The incident took place in Ward No. 5 of Melaghar’s Telkajla village. According to reports, Tania Akhtar, daughter of Monir Hossain from Telkajla village under Melaghar police station, had recently appeared for her final twelfth exams. Three days ago, she told her parents she was going to Melaghar but instead ran away with that young man, identified as Sonu Kumar from Bihar, whom she had met through the Free Fire game.
The father of the girl, Monir Hossain filed a missing entry at the Melaghar police station after the incident. But, since his daughter is 18 years old, the authorities are not intervening in the matter.
After getting refusal from the local police station over any concrete action to trace her daughter for the last three days with no answer from police, the girl's father shared the full details of the incident with local journalists and sought government’s help to rescue his daughter.
