Huge quantities of dry Ganja recovered from a private car

Based on coordinated efforts of two subdivisional authorities of Dhalai district police on Sunday managed to seize a private car and recovered huge quantities of dry Cannabis (Ganja) from the Kachucherra area of the district.
Police sources said that the SDPO (Ambassa) on Sunday passed secret information to his counterpart at Kachucherra that a Maruti Nexa car suspiciously loaded with dry Ganja moving towards Kachucherra, but Ambassa police were unable to trace the car.
Based on the information, a contingent of police personnel led by senior officials started searching the vehicle and they managed to locate the car in an abandoned place and sensing the police raid, accused driver had also managed to escape from the spot.
During a search in the car, police recovered many bundles of dry Ganja loaded at the rear side of the car, total weight of 200 kilograms, and worth of Rs. 20 lakh.
Police added that with a screen report of the car registration, police lodged a specific case under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and started investigation to trace accused drug smugglers.
