India once again made its mark on the global academic map as a strong contingent of young mental math prodigies from across the country participated in the ALOHA International Mental Arithmetic Competition, held on 20th July 2025 at the PH Grand Hall, Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

Among the nationwide delegation, Tripura emerged as a standout, with six exceptional students achieving podium finishes, representing not only their state but the rising academic excellence of Northeast India. Their achievements reflected both individual brilliance and the growing educational strength of India’s northeastern region.
Diplomatic Recognition On 21st July 2025, the Tripura delegation was graciously hosted by Ambassador Mr. Vanlalvawna Bawitlung, India’s Ambassador to Cambodia. The reception celebrated the students’ achievements and honored the rich cultural heritage of Northeast India, reinforcing Tripura’s growing legacy on the international stage.
Tripura’s ongoing participation in international mental arithmetic events—across Bangladesh, Malaysia, Russia, and China in previous years—demonstrates its consistent drive toward global academic exposure. Under the leadership of Ranabir Roy, Managing Director of ALOHA Northeast India, the state continues to produce students who not only match but exceed global standards.
“This is not just Tripura’s victory—it’s India’s victory,” said Mr. Roy. “Our students from Tripura have proven that excellence in education exists in every corner of India, and we are proud to contribute to India’s rising presence on the world academic stage.”
As India prepares future leaders in STEM and cognitive development, Tripura’s success stands as an inspiration and testament to the nation’s educational depth—from metropolitan cities to emerging academic hubs in the Northeast.
