Kanchanjungha express to start its maiden journey from Sabroom on Tuesday as scheduled
After the Agartala- Sealdah- Kanchanjungha Express met an accident in North Bengal, the much awaited official inauguration of Kanchanjungha Express from Sabroom to Sealdah via Agartala has rescheduled, but , the passenger services of train from Sabroom station will begins from Tuesday (June 18) as scheduled.
Sources said that fulfilling the long-standing demand of the people of South Tripura , the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has decided to extend the services of train no. 13173/13174 (Sealdah – Agartala – Sealdah) Kanchanjungha Express, train no. 13174 (Sabroom - Sealdah) will depart from Sabroom at 6.20AM from 18th June, 2024 on every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday to reach Sealdah and with this extension, passengers from the southernmost areas of Tripura will get direct connectivity to Kolkata. Traders, Students, Patients will get immensely benefited.
NFR sources said that passenger train operation from Sabroom station will continue as scheduled time and the Railway has extended the official inauguration programme to June 20 instead of 18.
