A young man and father of two children  was allegedly lynched to death by a group of people over suspicion of battery theft at Gokulnagar area near 1st battalion TSR camp under Sepahijala district.

Sources said that one Sajal Namo (24) of Gholagati village under the same district was caught by a group of people over suspicion of battery theft and they thrashed him severally on Monday last. Later, local people informed the matter to Bishalgarh police station and police, after rescuing him, shifted to local Hospital.

After his condition deteriorated, injured Sajal Namo was referred to GB Hospital and after battling for life the last two days with critical head injuries and other parts of his body, Namo succumbed to death on Wednesday midnight.

On Thursday morning, after autopsy his mortal remains were handed over to members of the victim.

Sajal leaves behind a distraught wife and two young children. While, speaking with media persons, wife of the deceased man alleged that her husband was lynched by a group of people at Gokulnagar area on Monday last merely over suspicion of theft and she demanded justice. “I don’t know how I’ll manage without him. Our financial condition is very poor, and I have nourish two children,” said his wife, struggling to hold back tears. She called for justice, urging authorities to take action against those responsible for her husband’s death.

She also said that will lodge a formal complaint at Bishalgarh police station demanding immediate arrest of all accused persons responsible for the untimely death of her husband.
