NLU Tripura and Sepahijala district organize 2-day exposure tour for girls rescued under Mission Sankalp Scheme
The National Law University, Tripura, in collaboration with the District Administration of Sepahijala district, successfully organized a two-day exposure visit for around 80 girls rescued under the Mission Sankalp Scheme.
The programme, held on October 28–29, 2025, aimed to inspire, empower, and counsel young girls who have been given a new lease of life through the state government’s mission against child marriage and gender-based vulnerabilities.
During their visit, the participants were given a comprehensive campus tour of NLU Tripura, including ice-breaking and interactive sessions with students and faculty members. A motivational counselling session was held to encourage the girls to pursue education, self-reliance, and confidence-building.
A key highlight of the event was a discussion on the theme “Child Marriage: A Menace for the State and Society” where NLUT’s Centre for Women and Child Rights interacted with the participants to raise awareness about the legal, social, and health consequences of child marriage.
The session also emphasized the importance of education and empowerment in breaking cycles of poverty and discrimination. Speaking on the occasion, representatives from the District Administration, Sepahijala and NLU Tripura reaffirmed their commitment to creating a safer and more equitable future for every girl in Tripura.
The exposure visit provided the participants an opportunity to experience university life firsthand and to envision a future shaped by knowledge, dignity, and empowerment. The two-day event concluded with an expression of gratitude to the District Administration and Mission Sankalp team for their consistent efforts to protect and rehabilitate vulnerable children and adolescents across the state.
