NLU Tripura legal aid Society stages ‘Jago Grahak Jago – Humara Haq, Humari Awaaz’ drama to empower consumer rights
The Legal Aid Society of National Law University Tripura staged a nukkad natak (street drama) titled “Jago Grahak Jago – Humara Haq, Humari Awaaz” at Ujjayanta Palace in Agartala, under the guidance of faculty advisor Miss Dipika Jamatia on Tuesday. The street play drew an engaged audience and aimed to raise awareness about consumer rights and the need to act against unfair trade practices.
Through relatable scenes of everyday consumer issues—such as expired goods, overcharging, and online fraud—the performance highlighted the six basic rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019. A courtroom sequence demonstrated how consumers can seek redressal and receive compensation, reinforcing that no grievance is too small to be addressed.
With slogans, audience interaction, and impactful storytelling, the play successfully conveyed the message: stay alert, know your rights, and raise your voice against injustice. The initiative reflects the Legal Aid Society’s commitment to spreading legal awareness and empowering the community.
