Notorious drug smuggler, two thieves arrested by NCC police station

One notorious drug smuggler was arrested with large quantities of contraband items from his residence at Goyala Basti area under NCC police station of Agartala on Sunday.
Giving details, OC of New Capital Complex (NCC) police station, Prajit Malakar said that one drug smuggler, identified as Ranjan Kumar Roy, who was earlier arrested cases registered under the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act 1985 and after release from jail, again started drug trading.
OC said that based on the information, police on Sunday raided his house in Goyala Basti area and recovered large quantities of dry Cannabis (Ganja) and some vials filled with Heroin.
Police arrested Ranjan Kumar Roy and will produce him before a local court on Monday with police remand appeal under a specific NDPS Act case.
The NCC police station on Sunday also arrested two thieves, identified as Maran Debbarma and Pragat Dhanuk and recovered some stolen bricks and cement bags under their possessions, stolen from the SCERT office in NCC area of Agartala.
