Notorious human trafficker arrested with arms and ammunition from bordering Madhupur
In a major success, police and BSF troops in a joint operation have managed to arrest a notorious human trafficker from bordering Radhanagar village under Sepahijala district with a sophisticated Chinese pistol and live rounds.
Giving details OC of Madhupur police and BSF of Tripura Frontier said that acting on specific intelligence, the forces raided his residence at bordering Harihardola village of Radhanagar under the same police station on Saturday early morning and managed to arrest Anjan Das (46), a known human trafficker.
Security forces have also recovered a sophisticated Chinese Pistol with one magazine and three live rounds under his possessions.
Sources added that arrested trafficker was involved in multiple cases of human trafficking and trans-border smuggling.
Additionally, in separate operations, BSF troops of Tripura Frontier seized 415 kg of Ganja and other contraband items worth ₹34.74 lakh, dealing a major blow to illegal activities along the border.
BSF remains vigilant and committed to curbing trans-border crimes and ensuring national security.
