Opposition leader and MLA of Dhanapur assembly constituency Manik Sarkar on Saturday visited his home constituency after a gap of nearly one year.
Sarkar along with other leaders arrived at the CPI(M) party’s local committee member Kaushik Chanda's house whose residence was attacked 16 times in the last 55 months after formation of BJP-IPFT government. His unprecedented arrival encouraged many people in the area to rush and to have a glimpse of their MLA and urge him to visit more frequently.
Sarkar, last visited Kathalia one year ago when the whole area suffered massive political violence and pitch-battle among supporters of two political parties.
Speaking with media persons Sarkar said that he did not visit his home constituency Dhanapur keeping in mind the overall safety of party supporters. However, public opinion is gradually gaining momentum against the autocratic ruler and the defeat of the ruler is only a matter of time, said Sarkar and added that people through their united fight will definitely oust the BJP government in next assembly elections.
Why are they being attacked again and again? Is it a crime as they are the supporters of CPI(M) , asked Sarkar and that people don't accept the violent politics of BJP and they will not tolerate them in coming days and soon the rules of autocratic rulers will come to end.
He appeals to all people to strengthen their united movements against the government and should also resist the violent politics of the ruling party.
