Police raid at a beauty salon in Dharmanagar, sealed for alleged immoral trafficking activities

In a sudden raid at Venus Beauty family salon, a beauty parlour located just opposite to Dharmanagar Police Station of North Tripura district on Friday, police sealed the beauty parlour for immoral trafficking activities in the name massage parlour . The operation was launched based on complaints from local residents and was led by Inspector Harendra Debbarma along with a team of female police personnel.
During the raid, four female members were found inside the salon, who admitted to offering “massage services.” Shockingly, four separate rooms were discovered inside the parlour, reportedly used for these services. A man named Palash, identifying himself as the “manager,” fled the scene during the raid.
The salon was overseen by one Saurav Majumder, a resident of the Ranirbazar area of Agartala (son of Sanjit Majumder). Notably, Saurav’s name had earlier surfaced in a similar incident in the Nayapara area of Dharmanagar.
Most surprisingly this salon, located right under the nose of the police station, had no trade license—yet had been operating for the past three months. Locals said the centre was set up right below the IIFL Bank and next to other respected businesses. Frequently male visitors were seen in the parlour but very few female customers, as per nearby shopkeepers.
Following the incident, the police sealed the premises and confiscated all documents. Members of civil society in the town have expressed strong outrage over the incident and have demanded strict action from the authorities as well as preventive measures to stop such activities in the future.
Locals say such illegal activities were taking place right in front of the administration’s eyes and local people demanded strict legal action against its owner for running immoral trafficking activities in the name of massage parlour.
