A special operation by the Radhakishorepur Police station of Gomati district has led to the recovery of 10 mobile phones reported missing in different parts of Udaipur subdivision over the past several days.
Following multiple complaints from members of the public, police launched an investigation into the missing mobile phones. The special operation was conducted under the leadership of Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Debanjali Roy and Officer-in-Charge (OC) of RK Pur police station, Sanjib Laskar.
The success was announced at a press conference held at police station on Wednesday. Gomati District Additional Superintendent of Police Rajib Sutradhar, SDPO Debanjali Roy and OC Sanjib Laskar addressed the media.
Additional SP Rajib Sutradhar said that the missing mobile phones were traced with the help of advanced technology and specialized equipment provided by the Central government. The 10 recovered phones were handed over to their rightful owners on Wednesday.
The owners expressed happiness after receiving their lost mobile phones and thanked the Radhakishorepur Police for their efforts and prompt action.
Police also said that six persons allegedly involved in the drug trade had been detained during the operation. However, police did not provide details on whether anyone had been arrested in connection with the recovery of the missing mobile phones.
The police initiative has strengthened public confidence, while the use of technology in tracing lost mobile phones is being viewed as a significant development in the investigation process.
