Police seize Yaba tablets worth Rs 60 lakh from bordering Moti Nager village

In major success by Tripura police during anti-drug operations, a total of 40,000 Yaba tablets valued at Rs. 60 lakh seized from bordering Moti Nagar village under Amtali police station of West Tripura district on Thursday.
Giving details, SDPO (Amtali) Paramita Pandey said that based on secret information on Wednesday night (August 20) about a large consignment of narcotics being stored at the residence of one Mangal Miah in Mati Nagar village.
In the wee hours of Thursday, a police team rushed to the spot and cordoned off the house, and conducted a raid, said Pandey and added that the house belonging to Mangal Miah was locked, but in the presence of an Executive Magistrate, police broke it open and searched the premises.
During the search, police recovered 40,000 Yaba tablets, estimated to be worth around Rs 60 lakh in the illegal market, said Ms Pandey.
The accused, however, managed to escape and is currently absconding. Police have launched a manhunt to arrest him.
