Positive Barta celebrates successful planting of one crore trees in one year

In an atmosphere charged with pride and hope, the Constitution Club of India witnessed a remarkable gathering on Saturday as Positive Barta hosted the National Awareness Conclave at New Delhi – a celebration of one of India’s most inspiring green movements, the successful planting of one crore trees in just one year.
What began as a seemingly audacious goal has blossomed into a people’s movement, drawing strength from farmers, students, women entrepreneurs, and community volunteers across the country. Together, they have nurtured not just trees but also a shared vision of a healthier, more sustainable India.
“This achievement is not only about numbers,” said Dr. Malay Pit, founder and CEO of Positive Barta. “Every sapling planted is a symbol of care, courage and responsibility towards our planet. It is about reviving balance in our ecosystem and reaffirming our duty to future generations.”
The conclave placed strong emphasis on the role of women entrepreneurs in driving this mission forward. Many women-led groups have been instrumental in setting up seed banks, running businesses and promoting sustainable livelihoods in their communities. Their leadership has demonstrated how environmental progress and social development are deeply interconnected. “These women are not just supporting their families, they are transforming communities while becoming guardians of nature,” Pit noted.
The event drew a distinguished audience of leaders, thinkers and changemakers from diverse fields. Among them were Dr. Ayanjit Sen, defence forces trainer and academic; Dr. Parimal Kanti Mondal, national leader and policy strategist; Shri Sandeep Verma, Deputy Secretary at the Ministry of Labour & Employment; Mr. Vaibhav Parashar, Director of Versol Solutions; and Dr. Suresh Singhvi, Co-Director of Sir Ganga Ram Hospital. Eminent journalists such as Mr. Mukesh Koushik of Dainik Bhaskar, Mr. S.H. Shams of Missile Express Group, and Ms. Arti Rai, senior television journalist, added their voices to the conversation, reflecting on the media’s role in shaping public consciousness around climate change.
The diversity of speakers underscored the depth of support for the mission, cutting across governance, academia, law, healthcare and media. Collectively, their insights reinforced the idea that fighting climate change requires an integrated effort across all sectors of society.
The One Crore Trees in One Year initiative has been remarkable for its grassroots strength. Thousands of youth volunteers, students, teachers, doctors, social workers and many more people who have come forward to plant and nurture trees, creating not just green cover but also awareness and a sense of shared social responsibility. Beyond the act of planting, Positive Barta has encouraged communities to care for the saplings, ensuring their survival and growth.
For many participants, the movement has been deeply personal. “When I planted my first sapling, it felt like a prayer for the future,” shared one young volunteer. “Now, when I see it grow, I feel I am part of something bigger than myself.” Such stories of commitment and hope echoed throughout the conclave, reminding attendees that real change often begins with small, consistent acts of care.
More than a commemoration of past success, today’s conclave was also a call to action. Organizers announced plans to expand the Green Mission, inspiring new communities, schools, and institutions to join the movement. The emphasis is on creating a self-sustaining cycle where each tree planted becomes part of a larger ecosystem of environmental and social development.
As the day drew to a close, the conclave was hailed as not merely a gathering of distinguished voices but as a tribute to every individual who took part in this mission. It was a celebration of the person who tilled the land, the women who led enterprises, the students who volunteered their time and the countless hands that watered and nurtured saplings with hope.
In the face of climate change and ecological imbalance, the conclave delivered a powerful message: that collective action, compassion, and perseverance can shape a greener and more inclusive future. As Positive Barta looks to the years ahead, its vision remains clear – an India where development walks hand in hand with sustainability and where every sapling is a promise of life.
