Pranajit raised key issues at Pre-Budget meeting in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan
Finance Minister of Tripura, Pranajit Singha Roy along with Akinchan Sarkar, Additional Secretary, Finance Department attended the Pre- Budget Meeting held on Friday at Jaisalmer, Rajasthan.
In the Meeting, the Finance Minister expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Finance Minister Smti. Nirmala Sitharamanji for their continued support towards the development of North Eastern states. He emphasized the remarkable progress made in Tripura under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and outlined several key issues for consideration of the Government of India to further accelerate the development of the Tripura state.
Government of India was requested to expedite the release of the balance amount of the National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF) for an amount of Rs. 14,247 Crore to address the damages caused by the recent floods in Tripura. It was also requested to provide a special financial package of Rs. 500 Crore for infrastructure development in the Tripura Tribal Area Autonomous District Council (TTAADC).
He also requested the union government to establish AIIMS, IIT, and IIM in Tripura to cater to super-speciality medical requirements and provide prestigious educational opportunities to the people of Tripura. It was also requested for the removal of the ceiling for Externally Aided Projects which is imposed till 2025-26. The Minister also urged to increase allocation under the Scheme for Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment by removing conditionalities.
