Sand carrying truck falls in a deep gorge, driver killed, 2 injured

In a tragic road accident, one sand carrying truck driver died on the spot and two other labourers sustained critical injuries, when the speeding and loaded truck fell in a deep gorge at Molloy Nagar tri-junction area of Agartala on Monday morning.
Police sources said that on Monday early morning a sand loaded truck from Anandanagar area towards Agartala was proceeding, the driver of the truck, identified as Rakesh Debnath (38) of Anandanagar under Srinagar police station of West Tripura district lost his control at the tri-junction area of Moloy Nagar in heavy speed and falls in a 40 feet deep gorge.
As a result, Rakesh Debnath died on the spot and other labourers suffered critical injuries, who were rescued by local people and fire fighters. While, two injured labourers were admitted to Tripura Medical College (TMC) at Hapania.
Police had recovered the lifeless body of the truck driver with help of a vehicle lifter van and shifted his body to hospital morgue for autopsy.
