State to get three new Government Degree Colleges: CM

In a major step towards strengthening the higher education landscape in Tripura, Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha announced the establishment of three new Government Degree Colleges in the state.
Dr Saha who is also education minister of the state, said that the colleges will come up at Ambassa in Dhalai district, and Kakraban and Karbook in Gomati district, starting from the academic session 2025-26.
The Chief Minister said the decision reflects the State Government’s commitment to ensuring enhanced access to higher education, especially in remote and underserved areas.
“This decision will largely benefit the students of these regions in providing access to higher studies and promoting quality education,” Dr Saha said.
