Students of Vidyajyoti schools excels in CBSE result

The students of Vidyajyoti schools in Tripura has achieved excellent results in Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) run Class -10 and Higher Secondary examinations and a hike of 26 % in pass percentage recorded in class-10 examinations in comparison to last year's result.
Addressing a press conference at Civil Secretariat on Wednesday afternoon, Special Secretary of Education department Raval Hemendra Kumar along with Director of the department , NC Sharma said that the pass percentage both in class-10 and HS has increased significantly at 86 % in comparison to results of last year.
Kumar said that in 15 schools across the state, 100% of students passed the Class 10 exams. Among these, 12 are Bengali-medium and 3 are English-medium schools. In 66 Vidyajyoti schools, over 90% of students passed in the Class 10 exam, while last year only 45 schools had over 90% pass rate. In 81 schools, over 81% of students passed the exam. Only 13.5% of students failed or got supplementary despite many of them coming from underprivileged backgrounds.
Among various districts, the pass rate for Class 10 students was particularly high: South Tripura – 92%, Unakoti – 88%, Khowai 89 %, Unakoti 88 %, Sepahijala 88%, North Tripura – 87%, Gomati – 86%, Dhalai – 84%, and West Tripura – 82%.
On the other hand, the pass rate for Class 12 students in the state under CBSE was 71%, which is a 21% increase from last year. In five schools, all Class 12 students passed, whereas last year, no school had a 100% pass rate in Class 12. Among these five, three are Bengali-medium and two are English-medium schools. Also, in 25 schools, over 90% of Class 12 students passed, compared to only two schools last year.
So far, the highest score recorded in the Class 10 exams is 496 out of 500 (99.2 %). District-wise, the top performance in Class 12 was seen in North Tripura – 85%, Dhalai 84 %. Unakoti 81.3 %, Khowai 80.8 %, South Tripura 77.7%, West Tripura 72.2 %, Gomati 51% and students of Sepahijala district get pass percentage of 47.9% .
Special Secretary Ravel HemendraKumar mentioned that the state government has been implementing several initiatives for the development of quality education and to improve the overall education system.
At the press conference, Director of the department, NC Sharma expressed optimism that the results for Class 10 and Class 12 under CBSE will be even better next year.
