In a moment of pride for Tripura, two esteemed officers —Sushanta Deb Barma, Assistant Commissioner of Taxes & Secretary of Tripura Golf Association, and Dr Biplab Nath, Professor & Head of ENT, Agartala Government Medical College (AGMC) & Vice President of Tripura Golf Association — represented the State Services in the prestigious Karnataka Civil Services Golf Championship and Plantation Drive held in Bengaluru on May 1st, 2025.
The Championship, jointly organized by the Golf Federation of India and the Tourism Department, Government of Karnataka, saw active participation from officers of IAS, IPS, IFS, Central Services and State Services from across the country.
Demonstrating exceptional skill and sportsmanship, the State Services team secured the Gold Medal and emerged as Champion bringing laurels to the state. This is the debut of the state officers in Karnataka Civil Services Golf Championship. It is worth mentioning that there is no minimum basic infrastructure of Golf in the state of Tripura and the Golfers of Tripura are solely dependent on the BSF Golf Course, Agartala in this regard.
This remarkable achievement highlights the growing participation and excellence of Tripura's officers beyond administrative duties, into the national sporting and environmental arena.
The Tripura Golf Association congratulates Deb Barma and Dr Nath for their commendable performance and dignified representation of the State.
