TMC’s chairperson Mamata Banerjee likely to visit state on January 1st week
The chairperson of Trinamool Congress (TMC) and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee along with TMC’s national general secretary and her nephew Abhishek Banerjee are likely to visit the state in the first week of January next.
Addressing a press conference here at TMC office on Friday afternoon, newly elected state president of the party Pijush Kanti Biswas said that under the inspiration and guidance of the chairperson of the party, TMC has announced the new Tripura Pradesh state committee , presidents of all block committee , president of all district committees along with state election committee, manifesto committee, committee for state youth frontal, Mahila frontal , SC, ST, OBC and minority committees and other committees of the party.
Biswas said that altogether 87 persons were named in the state committee and the party has also appointed 10 district presidents. He said that incumbent in-charge of the state unit of the party Rajbi Banerjee once again nominated as new in-charge of the party. Biswas said that a total 17 persons were included in the state’s election committee and chairman Pijush Biswas and vice-chairman Ashish Lal Singh. The party’s Rajya Sabha MP Sushmita Dev has been named as the member of the election committee. Former AMC Councillor Panna Deb will lead the party's women's wing, and Santanu Saha is the party's youth’s wing president, he said.
He said that West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee after arriving in the state will offer prayer at the Tripura Sundari temple and address a workers' conference, to be held at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan. She will also interact with the press and address a press conference at the state party headquarters here.
Biswas said that Mamata Banerjee will not address any public rally during her visit. However, she will address public meetings once the party's campaign for assembly elections starts in the state.
