Tripura receives 3.5 Cr Person-Days allocation under MGNREGS for FY 2025-26: CM

In a major boost to rural employment and economic stability, the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India, has allocated 3.5 crore person-days under the MGNREGS (Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme) for the Financial Year 2025-26, said  Chief Minister Prof. Dr Manik Saha.

Taking to social media, Dr Saha expressed his gratitude and said, " Thrilled to share that the Ministry of Rural Development, GoI has allocated 3.5 crore person-days under MGNREGS for FY 2025-26!  This is a significant boost from the previous year's 3.0 Crore labour budget, especially considering the devastating floods that hit us last year."

Dr Saha said this allocation will pump around Rs 1500 crore into Tripura's rural economy, providing vital support to those who need it most.

Acknowledging the support from the Centre, the Chief Minister extended his heartfelt gratitude to  Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister of Rural Development, Shivraj Singh Chouhan for their unwavering commitment to Tripura’s growth and prosperity.

This move underscores the Government of India’s commitment to supporting rural development and economic resilience in Tripura
